Abstract

This article is dedicated to one of the youngest scientific branch born in the XIX century which illustrated the formation of the science of religion as a separate scientific branch as well as a number of related issues. The article examines in detail the issue of the place and role of the “science of religion” and “religious studies” alongside with various humanitarian and social science categories. Apart from this, some terminology issues have been explained. It aslo explains the role of humanitarian and social sciences have for making the core of knowledge of the religious studies or/and science of religion.
